Happy Third Birthday Brayden!

Bray was born with so much hair! I still can't believe it when I look at this picture! His ears were also so hairy, and Dale was so embarrassed that he shaved them- which I was very sad about. This little guy always surprises me, starting out from his birth. He was a three hour delivery, dark as ever, 8 lb. 12 oz, born on February 12, 2007. Seriously- where did he come from?! But he sure is loveable and we just love him!

Grandma and Granddad Jakins sent Bray a present in the mail, so that started out the fun for his birthday. It is a marble run from Discovery Toys. They love it!

We had a fun birthday with Brayden. We started by going to the doctor for his well check, where he weighs 32 lb, in the 50th percentile, and 42 inches, 95th percentile. Later that day, I took the kids on the Frontrunner (which turned out to be free). It was so busy, so we sat in our little corner and watched the world out the window. Brayden fell asleep, the poor thing. We met Dale down at the SLC station. We then grabbed a bite to eat at A&W. We opened his presents, a bunch of cars.

We then headed over to the Huntsman center for the U of U Gymnastics Meet against the Aggies. It was also free. It really was fun. We stayed just for a little bit, because everyone was a little tired. It was a fun-filled birthday!

Saturday was the February birthday party at my parents' house. I was in charge of the cake. Bray shares a month with my brother Blake. Originally he wanted an Elmo riding a Thomas train on a Diego cake. We narrowed it down to a Diego cake.

I think Blake even enjoyed the cake, and boy was it yummy!

He got more cars, and was happy as can be!

Cabinin' with the Ellises Part 2

You've seen the pics, now here the story! We are so lucky to have such good neighbors. We had been planning this trip since Fall, when Karen's family bought their cabin. We were so lucky to go up with them. Karen and I headed up after school on Thursday. Our awesome new van fit all of us in, plus all of our stuff, and trust me- it was a lot of stuff! We headed up, and it was starting to snow up Parley's. But we got there okay. We met Scott at Dairy Keen, a popular yummy place in Heber. After, we headed up the mountain to the cabin. It was dark, and I couldn't see outside at all, but boy was the cabin beautiful. It was built in 2007, so very new. It is almost 4000 square feet, three levels, and seriously amazingly beautiful. We got our stuff in and just relaxed.

Dale had to work on Friday, so he didn't come up, and we missed him. There was no cell phone service or internet, so that was weird to get used to for 3 days! Friday was spent chillaxing in front of the fire reading, the kids in the hot tub, tubing, playing foozball, and just enjoying each other. The snow started really coming down, and I was able to get ahold of Dale. He was coming up and said he kept watching people spin out on Parley's. That's comforting! We held our breath, and he made it! We were so happy! To celebrate after the kids got to bed, we chilled in the hot tub.

Saturday was another great relaxing day. There is a monster sledding hill that we all enjoyed. The kids were so funny. They went down again and again. You would think they would get tired trying to climb up the hill, but they loved it. Bray struggled getting up, so he didn't go down the hill much, but the rest thought it was the best.

We stayed through Sunday, when we cleaned up and made it look like new again. There was so much snow over the weekend, that we were really worried about getting the van out, but we were able to. What a nice relaxing weekend! Thank you Ellises!

Cabin'ing with the Ellises
