It's Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve- what more can we say but it is the peak of excitement at our house! We chilled in the morning and got the house nice and clean. I attempted making cinnamon rolls- no they were not delicious... don't laugh! We gathered our stuff and headed up to Grandma's and Grandpa's house. Great Grandma and Great Grandpa; Blake and Lindsey; Brandon, Kayla and Cole; Stef, Roger, Kylee, Bracken and Jacob; everyone was there!! The thing about my parents' house is there is never a quiet moment. The kids are excited to be together, and they run run run! Good thing my parents' addition made it a little less claustrophobic!

We started with a delicious dinner, followed by the annual Burton talent show. The kids sang "Rudolph." Ady and Kylee sang, "Silent Night" together in Spanish. Cole played "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" on the piano (not really, but sang the song), then we did the nativity story, which is always a bit chaotic, but good. We sang some Christmas carols until the kids started begging to open presents.

So we headed downstairs for the excitement! The kids always draw names- this year, as always, Kylee and Ady got each other. Just like last year, they got each other the same present! They think it's hilarious, little do they know Stef and I plan it that way. Brayden gave to Cole a cute Thomas matching game, and Clayson gave Jacob a fun hammer toy. They love giving their gifts just as much as getting a gift. Mom and Dad gave us a Walt Disney World blanket with the castle on it. LOVE IT!!! They gave us a little cash, too, which is always nice! Grandma and Grandpa gave us a Hickory Farms set (YUM!) and the kids got SPOILED! They gave Ady a jewerly making kit and a jewelry box; Clayson a hex bugs arena (they are the coolest thing!) and Bray a Chuck and Friends car thing that he thought was the best thing on earth (it really is so cute!). Dad gave Grandpa a signed picture of Mark Eton addressed to "Wayne." Apparently he came and spoke to Big- D and Dad got it for Grandpa. Perfect gift for Grandpa!! It got late so fast, and it's always hard to get away, but we were ready to come get ready for Santa.

When we got home we put out the cookies and milk, and threw carrots on the grass, and then it was time for bed!!!
